The Secretary General of the Parliament has officially informed the Parliament by presenting the letter of resignation that Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa sent to the Speaker to resign from the office of President.
In announcing his resignation, Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has concluded the letter by saying, “I hereby inform you that I am committed to giving my best contribution to the motherland, just as I have served the motherland with my utmost strength so far.”
Parliament was adjourned until next Tuesday (19) at 10 am.
