Acting President and Prime Minister Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe has ordered the police and the armed forces to impose a curfew in the Western Province and to impose a state of emergency on the island with immediate effect.
According to this, it has been ordered to take into police custody the people who engage in riotous activities and the lorries and tippers transporting such people.
