A few moments before this, a group of protesters broke into the private residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Protesters entered the Prime Minister’s private residence by breaking down gates and climbing over walls and chain-link fences.
Since this evening, some of the protesters have been standing in front of the house in the fifth lane in front of Thurston College, Colombo, demanding Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to resign from his post. A group of Sirasa journalists who went to report it was also attacked by a group of special task forces who were guarding the place.
The people who were engaged in the agitation became riotous after that attack. Later, a large number of people gathered at the place and they entered the Prime Minister’s private residence. Police information stated that they are now behaving in a rebellious manner and that there has been a fire in the house.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had a priceless collection of books in that house. Also, this house is a property assigned to the Royal College of Colombo.
Why ? He must go Immediately.
