Sajith Premadasa, the leader of Samagi Jana Balavega, who issued an announcement, says that the government is behaving in a frenzy because they are afraid of the people’s opposition that is rising like a tsunami against them.

Police curfew is just another cowardly act by the deranged government!
The government, which is oblivious to the situation this country is in, has imposed a police curfew in the Western Province.
This cowardly and humiliating act is not a decision that can be taken by anyone who has any knowledge of the current situation in the country.
Most of the people living in this country are standing in queues. Some are in queues for two or three days. The situation is extremely acute, especially in the Western Province. In this way, the people who are in the queues are lost and this fearful curfew has been imposed.
Fearful of the people’s opposition that is rising like a tsunami against them, the government is behaving in a frenzy mood and this emergency curfew is the immediate result.
There is no doubt that there are many more such disruptive and repressive activities in the agenda of the government.
Although the police have previously sought Prohibitory orders from the court against such democratic struggles, the court has accepted the people’s rights and allowed peaceful protests and if they try to suppress people’s struggles under the guise of such police laws, it will be a serious mistake by the police and the security forces.
The security forces including the police should not impose such curfews but should stand by the people and provide them with security.
We emphasize to the government that there has never been a government in history that was so afraid of democratic struggles and that the enthusiasm of the people will grow more and more through such cowardly efforts of the government.
Also, we emphasize that the struggle to oust this evil government cannot be stopped by such primitive and cowardly actions of the government.
