Former Minister of State Sanath Nishantha’s brother and three others have been remanded till the 23rd of this month for assaulting a person at a petrol station in Arachchikattuwa and grabbing a police officer’s uniform.
The three were handed over to the police this morning and produced before the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court.
Former Chairman and current Member of the Arachchikattuwa Pradeshiya Sabha Jagath Samantha, Sameera Madushanka and A. A. Dhammika were remanded. Jagath Samantha is the brother of former Minister of State Sanath Nishantha.
He had been arrested and remanded in custody for a recent assault and has not been released on bail for less than a month, police said.
