A person involved in drug trafficking has been killed in a shooting near a fitness center in Elakanda, Wattala.
Police investigations have revealed that a guard shot him in the head with a T-56 assault rifle as he exited the bodybuilding center.
A resident of Alli Estate in Mattakkuliya has been killed. He is said to be heavily addicted to the drug named ice.
Police have also received information that the killer had arrived on a motorcycle.
A senior police official said they were investigating whether there was any connection between the murder and the recent killings.
The victim was identified as Nipuna. His father was also involved in drug trafficking. The official further stated that Hlhe was abducted by a white van gang.
Police believe that the murder was carried out by Wella Saranga, a drug dealer who has now fled to India, on a contract by his followers.
