The Elections Commission has accepted the name of Dhammika Perera to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Basil Rajapaksa.
Necessary steps have been taken to issue a special gazette notification in this regard, said the Secretary of the Election Commission Mr. H. M. T. D. Herath states.
The Secretary further stated that the Election Commission met today (10) and approved the appointment.
