Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government says that steps will be taken to make every Friday a day where state sector employees can work from home.
Accordingly, the number of days that state sector employees have to report for duty will be reduced to 4 days a week, the Minister said.
He said the move was due to the ongoing fuel and financial crisis in the country.
However, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena further stated that he hopes to submit a proposal in this regard to the Cabinet in the future and take a policy decision.
