The CID has arrested a Nittambuwa textile shop manager and a three-wheeler driver in connection with the murder of Parliamentarian Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security guard Police Sergeant Goonetileke. The manager is a 53-year-old and the three-wheeler driver is 27-year-old from Hapule.
The manager of the textile shop where Amarakeerthi Athukorala and the security guard were killed has been arrested. The driver of the three-wheeler was a taxi driver who had parked the three-wheeler in front of the shop.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that 25 suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of the Athukorala MP and the security guard.
