The President of the Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association Gamunu Wijeratne states that all private buses will be out of service from next Monday (6) due to the lack of proper diesel.
He also stated that this decision will be taken due to the completion of the GCE Ordinary Level Examination.
He stated that although it was stated that the SLTB depot would provide fuel for private buses, no formal program has been implemented so far for that purpose.
Therefore, we have to wait in queues for days to get diesel for buses, he said.
Therefore, if priority is not given to providing diesel for passenger buses this week, buses will be completely out of service from Monday, Mr. Wijeratne added.
