Liquor companies have decided to increase the prices of all liquor.
The companies say the decision was made because of rising VAT and rising production costs.
Commenting on this, the Commissioner of Excise Kapila Kumarasinghe stated that the relevant companies are currently informing the Excise Department regarding the relevant prices.
However, he added that alcohol is a commodity that is not subject to price restrictions.
