The CID has arrested two more suspects in connection with the murder of MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security guard Police Sergeant Gunawardena.
Such that a 21 year old chef that works in a hotel in Nittambuwa who is a resident of Divulapathana and a 58 year old resident of Nittambuwa who do not have a permanent job have been arrested.
So far 16 suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder.
Among them are people who directly involved in the murder of the MP and the security guard. There is also a vegetable shop owner in Nittambuwa who stole the firearm of the MP’s bodyguard and hid it. The CID said that two former members of the security forces were also.among those arrested for the murder.
