According to gas company sources, discussions are underway to increase the price of gas in Sri Lanka in view of the rising trend of gas prices in the world market.
Accordingly, the sources further say that the price of a domestic gas cylinder will be between Rs. 7000-8000.
Check the price of Domestic gas cylinders in Bangladesh, it’s around 2800 LKR. Both countries buy from the same supplier, how come its cheaper there? We r being robbed by someone somewhere.

@ Harry, one would have to check the subsidies given by the government. When the fuel (petrol) was given at 177 rupees GoSL has to a huge chunk to settle the bill. We get fuel from India now. comparatively our petrol is still cheaper taking into account the currency conversion.
