Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva has stated that the passage of the 21st amendment is mandatory and if not, SLFP ministers will resign from the government.
He said that he had taken over the ministry post on the condition that the powers of the executive president be limited through the 21st amendment to the constitution.
He said that the party was strongly in favor of the 21st Amendment to the Constitution as it was introduced on a proposal by the SLFP.
He was speaking to the media after a discussion held today (26) at the SLFP headquarters at Darley Road, Colombo.
