Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena has handed over amendments to increase the powers of the Committees including COPA and COPE to the Speaker.
The draft amendments to the Standing Orders of Parliament to increase the powers of the Committees on Public Accounts (COPA) and the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) have been handed over to the Speaker by the Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena.
The Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena stated that these amendments will be made to the Standing Orders of Parliament to empower those Committees to move forward without stopping only by submitting a report.
