The All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association states that the price of wheat flour has again been increased by around Rs. 35.
Its chairman N. K. Jayawardena says that with the new price increase, the price of a 50 kg bundle of wheat flour will be Rs. 12,500.
He also stated that due to the sharp rise in the price of wheat flour, it is difficult for him to continue his industry.
Mr. Jayawardena said that there are two companies supplying wheat flour to the country and one of them has increased the price of wheat flour.
Mr. N. K. Jayawardena further stated that in the absence of a government at present there is no one to look into or complain about this matter.
