An islandwide hartal is being held today (06) to protest against the government.
In support of this, the trade unions in many sectors of the private and public sectors have decided to withdraw from their duties.
Several morning trains will run in parallel to today’s hartal, but the Station Masters’ Association has withdrawed from working in support of the hartal since last night.
The Department of Railways says that 275 daily trains scheduled to run today will be operated without cancellation as the main regulatory unions including the train controllers and drivers do not support the hartal.
Private bus associations are participating in this but buses of the Ceylon Transport Board are to be operated.
As a nation we don’t need all these problems if the total management of Sri Lanka step down & allow young blood to take over,as they have capacity effectiveness competitiveness & capability which rates far above the standards of the management of today
