Showers or thundershowers will occur in the most part of the island during the evening or at night, the Meteorological Department said.
“Fairly heavy rainfalls above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers can be expected in Northern and Eastern provinces during the morning too.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers,” it said in its forecast for the day.
