The Excise Department has instructed all liquor store owners to immediately display revised prices on locally produced liquor at outlets.
Excise Commissioner Kapila Kumarasinghe said that the decision was taken after investigating complaints received from consumers that liquor was being sold at higher prices in certain shops.
Accordingly, legal action will be taken against the owners of liquor shops who do not display the relevant revised prices, said the Commissioner of Excise Kapila Kumarasinghe.
