The Sri Lanka Podijana Peramuna (SLPP) has requested the President to give them the proposal to form an all-party government, submitted by the independent group of parliamentarians.
The General Secretary of the party, Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam stated that this request was made to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa by a group of representatives of his party during a discussion held last night (29).
He further said that his party representatives had told the President that their decision could be announced after discussions within the party regarding the proposal submitted by the independent group of parliamentarians.
