The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has issued a special gazette notification mandating the receipt with accurate data on purchase, collection, storage and sale of goods.
This has been effective from yesterday (27).
This applies to any item purchased by manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, warehouses or vendors and stored in a container, warehouse, commercial building or any other location.
Accordingly, a receipt, bill or invoice issued in writing, electronic or print media by a manufacturer, supplier, distributor, warehouse unloader or dealer who supplied the goods to a person shall be kept under control or in his/her possession.
The Consumer Affairs Authority has directed that the sell, store, collect, distribute, expose or offer for sale, display for sale should not be done unless the receipt or bill or invoice contains the correct information.
