Special train and intercity train fares will not be increased tonight (24), Transport Minister Dilum Amunugama said.
After talking to the General Manager, the Minister says that he had suspended the decision taken to revise the ticket prices before receiving that information to the Ministry.
The price revision will be discussed tonight.
The final decision will be announced next Monday or Tuesday, he said.
The Minister of Transport Amunugama says that the increase in train fares will be only to the extent necessary to cover the increase in fuel prices.
