Pakistan has called for a joint investigation into the alleged missile attack on Pakistan by India and called for international intervention to defuse the situation.
India has said that a missile strike on Pakistan on the 9th was due to a maintenance mistake. Accordingly, India announced that it was conducting a formal internal investigation into the incident.
No casualties or property damage were reported from the missile strike. However, Pakistan has expressed their displeasure over the incident and has strongly opposed for only holding an internal inquiry by India.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement saying that the international community, including itself, should intervene in the incident.
Pakistan, meanwhile, has sought clarification from India on the security of its missile system and on how to prevent another missile launch in the future.
India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons and in the event of a nuclear conflict between the two countries, it could have a serious impact on the region as well as the global balance of power and security.
