Cabinet approval has been granted to import 38,500 MT of Potassium Chloride required for paddy cultivation during the Yala season.
The fertilizer will be imported following the competitive international bidding system.
This fertilizer is expected to be distributed to farmers under the government fertilizer subsidy.
The Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage has submitted the relevant paper to the Cabinet.
