Commissioner General of Labor Prabhath Chandrakirthi said that steps have been taken to file around 15,000 cases against employers who have not paid statutory allowances, including the Employees Provident Fund.
He further stated that there is a delay in taking legal action due to delays in court proceedings.
Therefore, a new bill is being drafted to give jurisdiction to the labor courts, he added.
