Retired Army Maj. Gen. chief of staff to the President and 3 other officials were fired

Secretary to the President Gamini Senarath has removed four retired Army officers, including retired Major General K. B. Egodawela, who served as President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s Chief of Staff.

Accordingly, Maj. Gen. Egodawela, who served as the Chief of Staff to the President, has been appointed as the Director of Transport and the other three Army officers have been removed from their posts.

Paying attention to the accumulation of 7,000 files left without any consideration, containing requests received to the President’s Fund under former Secretary to the President P. B. Jayasundara, Gamini Senarath, the current Secretary to the President, has removed the Secretary of the Presidential Fund and appointed Duminda Nanayakkara for the post.

Attorney-at-Law Chaminda Kularatne has been appointed as the Additional Secretary to the President while Nishantha Weerasinghe has been appointed as the Additional Secretary to the Presidential Complaints Unit. They are both officials who served as Additional Secretaries to the Prime Minister while Gamini Senarath was the Secretary to the Prime Minister.
