The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has requested the Ministry of Finance to provide relief for fuel taxes or increase in fuel prices to alleviate the current crisis.
The Ministry of Energy stated that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has to bear a heavy loss due to the maintenance of fuel prices under the current circumstances.
In that situation, the Ministry points out that it has become a challenge for the corporation to obtain dollars in the future due to the lack of rupees for CPC.
In view of this, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has requested the Ministry of Finance to expedite the tax relief or increase in fuel prices.
