A passenger has died when a three-wheeler was driven ignoring traffic lights collided with a train at the Kudahakapola railway crossing in Ja-Ela.
The accident took place last night and the deceased was a 31-year-old resident of Dekatana, Kelahala.
The driver of the three-wheeler had fled the scene following the accident, police said.
The train was traveling from Colombo Fort to Chilaw when it collided with the three-wheeler, police said.
