    Leonardo DiCaprio speaks up for the elephants dying in Sri Lanka

    Leonardo DiCaprio, a Hollywood superstar and United Nations Climate Change Representative, has drawn attention to the plight of elephants caused by plastic waste at an open disposal site in the eastern part of Sri Lanka.

    An Oscar-winning actor, he released a news report that was on the Associated Press from his official social media account.

    According to the report, two more elephants have died over the weekend after consuming plastic garbage from a garbage dump in Pallakkadu village in the Ampara District.

    Conservationists and veterinarians in eastern Sri Lanka have warned that elephants are dying in the area due to plastic waste at an open landfill.
