The Ceylon Electricity Board has stated that there could be power outages in some parts of the island today as well.
The power supply to several areas including Colombo was also disrupted last night.
The Ceylon Electricity Board said that the power supply was restored at 9.30 pm.
The power supply has been disrupted due to a breakdown at a generator at the Kelanitissa power plant.
The Ceylon Electricity Board says that it is still monitoring the system operation of the Kelanitissa power plant.
