The Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage says that although a Presidential Task Force was appointed to deal with the fertilizer issue, none of them worked and in the end he, the Minister of Agriculture, had to pull it out on his own.
He said that the private sector has been allowed to import chemical fertilizers but if no action has been taken yet to import those fertilizers for this season, there will be no time to import them.
