Former Test captain Mahela Jayawardene has been appointed as the consulting coach of the Sri Lanka national cricket team.
His appointment will be effective from January 1, 2022 and will be valid for one year.
Under Jayewardene’s new appointment, he will be in charge of the cricket section of all national teams except the men’s national team.
In addition, Mr. Jayawardena will assist in formulating all strategic plans for the players and team management at the High-Performance Center set up at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
