Minister of State for Local Government and Provincial Councils Roshan Ranasinghe says that local government bodies produce 37,000 metric tons of organic fertilizer per month.
He added that this will provide a sustainable solution to the garbage problem.
Accordingly, the local government bodies will extend their fullest support to the government’s policy of promoting non-toxic organic farming, he said.
