With the identification of a new corona virus strain from South Africa, the European Union and several countries have decided to restrict tourists to their borders.
The new species was first identified earlier this week, and scientists say it is spreading faster than previous corona varieties.
Scientists say they are still studying whether the strain can be suppressed by the vaccines currently in use.
Accordingly, Britain has decided to ban South African flights into the country and to ban people from countries close to South Africa.
In addition, the European Union is reportedly considering suspending flights from South Africa.
Also, Japan, India and Israel have taken steps to tighten their borders.
The World Health Organization (WHO), meanwhile, has said they will focus on enforcing travel bans across countries due to the new paradigm shift and adhering to existing health guidelines will be enough for now.
