Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith Cardinal says it is becoming clear that this administrative structure will not allow the commission’s recommendations on the Easter attack to be implemented.
The Archbishop, joining a special prayer service today at Kochchikade said that the former Attorney General had met him and stated that this could not be said to have been done by 7-8 terrorists and that there was a longer plan behind the attack.
“It has been 30 months since the Easter attack and it is still not clear who was behind the attack. The Attorney General who came to see me on March 08 this year told me that this was a largely organized incident and that it could not be said that it was done by 7-8 terrorists and that there was a longer plan behind this attack. It has been 9 months since the report of this commission was handed over to the Attorney General. Very few of the recommendations in the revealed volume have been implemented. We have learned that high ranking officials, especially in the security forces, are making great efforts to cover up investigations. Even though they promised ‘One country, One law’, it seems that laws are different for several people. Those in charge of the law are becoming part of this conspiracy. In this context, it is clear that this administrative structure will not allow us to implement the recommendations of the Commission on Easter Attack.” said Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
