A 12-year-old girl has died after being struck by lightning.
She was playing in the corridor of her house in Balallam, Panvila in the Mahawa Police Division when struck by lightning last evening, police said.
Heavy rain was falling in the area at that time.
She died on the way to the Nagollagama Hospital, police said.
