A hand grenade was found near the ‘Walakulu bamma’ of the Bellanwila temple today.
Police suspect that the bomb was placed in a polythene bag by someone at the scene.
The bomb was first spotted by two temple workers. After informing the police, they called the STF bomb disposal unit and defused it by detonating it.
