The Attorney General today informed the Court of Appeal that the indictment filed against former Navy Commander Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda before a three-judge bench of the Colombo High Court, in connection with the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths will be dropped.
Senior State Counsel Avanthi Perera, who appeared for the Attorney General, made this announcement when the petition was filed by Wasantha Karannagoda in the Court of Appeal today seeking the issuance of a writ order nullifying the Attorney General’s decision to file a case against her before the Colombo High Court Judges.
The petition was taken up before a bench of Justices Sobhitha Rajakaruna and Dhammika Ganepola.
