Indian Army Commander General Manoj Mukund Nara arrives in Colombo today for a five-day friendly visit.

That is at the invitation of the Army Commander General Shavendra Silva.

During his visit, General Narawan is expected to meet with Commander-in-Chief of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Tomorrow, General Narawan will be accorded the traditional ‘Colorful Guards and Beautifully Decorated Special Greetings’ at the Army Headquarters.

He will see the final demonstration of the bilateral exercise ‘Mithra Shakthi’ to be held at the East Maduru Oya Special Forces Training School tomorrow.

India and Sri Lanka launched the largest joint military exercise in the region last week for 12 days, focusing on enhancing counter-terrorism cooperation at the Combat Training School in the Ampara District.
