Brigadier Susantha Udayasena, who was receiving treatment at the Kotelawala Defense Science Faculty Hospital after infecting the Covid 19 virus, died last night (02).
He is the highest-ranking officer in the Army to have died of Covid infection. He was 53 years old and resided in Malabe.
He is said to have been infected with Covid and dengue at the same time.
Mr. Sudath Udayasena served in the Research Analysis, Projection and Development Branch of the Army and has introduced many innovations.
