Prof. Channa Jayasumana, Minister of State for the Regulation of Pharmaceutical Supplies, said that strict conditions will be imposed on the importation of automatic thermometers, oxygen concentrators and oximeters from now on.
The Minister of State has instructed the officials to constantly inspect the quality of the equipment and to check whether the equipment is being imported without proper permission.
The Minister of State has been instructed to check the availability of such substandard equipment in the market and take such equipment into custody immediately.
