Over 500,000 doses of the vaccine were given to the public yesterday under the Covid vaccination program to control the corona epidemic in the country.
Accordingly, 511,142 people were vaccinated yesterday.
The day before yesterday, more than 570,000 doses had been given.
Currently, the highest number of doses received in Sri Lanka are Sinopharm which are made in China. That’s 18,000,000. Other than that 2,865,424 doses of AstraZeneca, 1,500,000 doses of Modarna, 764,500 doses of Pfizer and Russian-made 210,000 doses of Sputnik V.
The first dose was given to 12,468,949 people in the country, out of the total over the age of 30 population of 11,496,906, and 3,322,905 between the ages of 20-30.
The number of second doses given was 8,169,232.
The total population of the country is 21,919,000.
