The government is considering allowing the import of third and fourth class pesticides in the World Health Organization’s Pesticide Hazard Classification.
The Ministry of Agriculture has already submitted the relevant proposal. Accordingly, permission is to be granted for imports subjecting to the approval of the Department of Agriculture.
According to government sources, the decision will only apply to pesticides registered in the Registrar’s Office of Pesticides.
