The government is looking for lands to bury Covid dead bodies

The land in Ottamawadi, Batticaloa, where the bodies of those who died of the Covid 19 virus are being buried, is now in a state of inadequate space.

Therefore, information from the Ministry of Health stated that another two acres of land adjacent to the originally selected land will also be used. The Technical Services Division of the Ministry of Health is currently searching for lands in the Trincomalee, Ampara and Puttalam districts to bury Covid’s bodies.

According to the Ministry of Health, 2264 Covid bodies have been buried in the Ottamawadi area as of yesterday. Among them are 2070 bodies of Muslims, 98 bodies of Hindus, 55 bodies of Buddhists and 41 bodies of Catholics.
