Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Minister of Cooperatives, Marketing Development and Consumer Protection states that from now on, if a gazette notification is issued setting a control price for a product, it will be issued only if it is practical to do so.
He also states that it is a policy decision.
He also emphasized that the control price gazette on sugar which was Rs. 85 was removed as it was not practically implemented.
