The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) alleges that even though the number of patients hospitalized with Covid infection and the number of Covid deaths is very high, the health authorities release only very few details to the media.
They say that the government can get people’s support for the Covid control by providing accurate data, but giving false information will erode public confidence.
They say that the risk should be communicated to the public through accurate data and it is a great help in controlling the epidemic but it is not happening at present.
GMOA also says that the Epidemiology Unit and the Secretary to the Ministry of Health should explain to the country about the release of the low number of patients and deaths.
