Duminda Dissanayake, State Minister of Solar Power, Wind and Hydro Power Development said that the construction of the solar power plant, which has been halted in the Tharyankulama area in Anuradhapura, will be completed before the end of this year.
Construction of the plant began in 2017 with the aim of adding 1 mw to the national grid and was later halted.
Duminda Dissanayake also said that plans are being drawn up to expedite the implementation of renewable energy projects that have been delayed for more than ten years under several governments.
