Fourteen monks and three people staying at a temple in Liyanagoda, Habaraduwa have been infected with the Covid-19 virus.
The Habaraduwa Medical Officer of Health stated that the monks were diagnosed with Covid infection after examining the results of random PCRs conducted on the Chief Incumbent monk and another monk.
Accordingly, on the 20th of this month, other monks and 3 laymen of the temple were tested with PCR. According to the Habaraduwa Medical Officer of Health, tests have been carried out and it has been confirmed that three laymen and 14 monks have been infected with Covid.
