Three gems in the possession of the National Gem and Jewelery Authority, which are said to be the most valuable and priceless in the world, have been placed in the safe of the Bank of Ceylon main building yesterday (19) under the strict security of the STF.
The building where the National Gem and Jewelery Authority is located in Kollupitiya is in danger of sinking. Due to the suspension of all its activities, it is to be deposited in the Bank of Ceylon safe for its security.
The National Gem and Jewelery Authority is currently establishing at the premises of Gem and Jewelery Industries State Ministry in Narahenpita on the instructions of Minister of State for Gem and Jewelery Industries Lohan Ratwatte.
This gem, which is a national treasure, has been taken to the Bank of Ceylon safe until the premises of the State Ministry of Gem and Jewelery Industries in Narahenpita is prepared.
