The Ceylon Electricity Board and the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation have appointed two new chairmen.
Accordingly, a former Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy, M. C. C. Fernando, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Electricity Board. Vijitha Herath, the former Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board, is appointed as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation.
It is said that Mr. Jagath Wellawatte, a senior lecturer who served as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, is to be given another post or diplomacy in a state institution.
